Resource Stewardship
Less Yarn Wastage
Innovation drives our sustainability mission and one such innovation is housed at out Plant 5 tufting facility in North Geelong – a machine that removes remnants of yarn from their cores and re-introduces them into the tufting process.
With similar versions used in the fabric making industry, a core stripping machine is designed specifically for the removal of yarn from its cylindrical cardboard core (also called a cone or tube).
As a fully automated system, it ensures our manufacturing process efficiently uses as much yarn as possible, preventing it from becoming waste and as such, diverting it from landfill.
